Making chicken coops in your yard might not be as hard as you suspect. Making a chicken coop is simple if you've a well detailed plan, a targeted mind and a little time to spare. If you have found yourself intimidated by the sheer size of such a role then fear not! Keep the following things in mind and you need to do just fine.

The dimensions of your backyard: Considering that you mean to make a chicken coop for ten chickens, you want to remember that a rule of thumb that is followed while making a chicken coop is that at least 4 square feet of space should be provided per bird so that they may live comfortably. This will put put the minimum size of your coop ( ten chickens * 4 square feet). Can your backyard support such a structure? If not then maybe you must down size your poultry.

Protection from Weather: The weather will have a large amount of say when it comes to making the coop. The following is the breakdown of the way in which the weather affects the coop design:
